Why does bulk boundary correspondence fail in some non-hermitian topological models
The bulk-boundary correspondence is crucial to topological insulators. It associates the existence of boundary states (with zero energy and possessing chiral or helical properties)with the topological numbers defined in bulk. In recent years, topology has been extended to non-hermitian systems, opening a new research area called non-hermitian topological insulator. In this paper, however, we wi...
متن کاملUnified bulk-boundary correspondence for band insulators
The bulk-boundary correspondence, being a question of intensive research interest over the past decades, provides for one of the most quintessential ideas in the topological classification of matter. However, the bulk-boundary correspondence has never been proven in all generality and has in certain scenarios even been shown to fail to hold, depending on boundary profiles of the terminated syst...

متن کاملIntegrability of the RG flows and the bulk/boundary correspondence
We suggest that RG flows in the N=2 SUSY YM theories are governed by the pair of the integrable systems. The main dynamical ingredient amounts from the interaction of the small size instantons with the regulator degrees of freedom. The relation with the bulk/boundary correspondence is discussed.
متن کاملNon-Hermitian PT -symmetric and Hermitian Hamiltonians’ correspondence: Isospectrality and mass signature
A transformation of the form x → ±iy ∈ iR; x, y ∈ R, or an equivalent similarity transformation with a metric operator η are shown to map non-Hermitian PT -symmetric Hamiltonians into Hermitian partner Hamiltonians in Hilbert space. Isospectrality and mass signature are also discussed. PACS codes: 03.65.Ge, 03.65.Ca
